KANUNÝ ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL

Kanuni Anatolian High School is the most well-known and foremost educational institution in Trabzon. It was the first Anatolian High School established in Trabzon. It was established in 1982 with the aim of teaching English as a foreign language. But throughout the years, the main aim was altered by the forces on students. The most vital force is to pass the university entrance exam. Therefore, the students have to give more importance on other subjects than learning a foreign language.

 

The Profile of the Students.

Kanuni Anatolian High School is a continually developing family with more than 750 students and 70 teachers. All of the students are unique, successful, creative and selected, that is, they gain the right and luck of being one of the students of Kanuni Anatolian High School passing a very important exam after graduating from secondary school at the age of 15.

 

The Basic Aim of the School.

Our basic aim is to provide an educational atmosphere open to improvements and the use of contemporary teaching methods. In order to enrich this atmosphere, we understand the necessity of being open to many different kinds of scientific and creative studies proposed by our students.

 

The Educational Teaching Methods.

In our school, the National Ministry of Education’s Regulations are being applied along the academic programmes to increase our students interests and skill and enrich their knowledge our school not only focuses on academic success but also aims to foster self confidence in students by supporting social artistic and creative endeavours such as drawing, sports, music and drama.

                         

The Principle of the School.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk greatly emphasized the importance of education upon the founding of the Turkish Republic. Within the framework, Atatürk requested and guided the establishment and growth of Turkish Education with the help of many successful schools. Kanuni Anatolian High School is one of them. It was been a real home for its students since it was established. Taking the principles of Atatürk as guidance, all of the teachers try to teach the feelings of success, confidence, respect and love to their students.

 

The Location and the Parts of the School.

Our school is located in the centre of the city with a magnificent view of the Black Sea. It consists of two buildings. The main building is the historical one and is called “A Block”. It has three floors. On the ground floor, there are biology, chemistry and physics laboratories and three classes. On the first floor, there are ten classes, the technology room, the teachers room and one of the directory room. On the second floor, there are more classes, the technology room, the other director’s room, the library, the students’ advisory service, another teachers’ room and the headmaster’s room.

 

The second building is called “B Block”. It has got three floors too. On the ground floor, there is an art class and a sports room. On the first floor, there is a teachers’ room, a music class, a director’s room, the students’ advisory service and some classrooms. On the second floor, there are nine more classrooms and the English teacher’s room.

 

There is a conference saloon and a cafeteria between these two buildings. One open and one close basketball fields are situated on the grounds of the school beside the football pitch.

           

All of the students are encouraged to show their skills using all the facilities at school. We want not only successful and hardworking, but confident, creative and social students as well.
